Trung Nguyen Hotel

+ Stay here !

This hotel should be a great choice for everyone; good location in the middle of the town with the main market across the road, and within walking distance to the river and all restaurants. We stayed two nights and didn't know what to expect from this small town on our way from Saigon to Cambodia. But this young smart girl at the front desk (who spoke perfect english) knew exactly how to fill our day with the best sights the town could offer. The short motorcycle trip to the mountain was great - I just wanna go back and tell everyone - "thanks, you are awesome"

+ Overall a great place in a great location !

Great price, with all that one needs, including breakfast, and even free wifi.
Very friendly and helpful staff, who quickly arranged motorcycles for our sunset trip to Sam Mountain.
One of the rooms had an issue with the air conditioning, but it was quickly and efficiently resolved.
Fun visiting the market!

+ Great Value !

Great little place in the centre of Chau Doc. Rooms with air-con, tv and balcony are decent and good value at $13 (with breakfast). Diem at the front desk speaks excellent english, is extremely helpful and can assist in organising local tours and onward travel arrangements.

+ Super clean and an amazing deal !

It's been over a year since I stayed at this hotel, and I've always wanted to write a review, but never really got a chance to until now. FYI, I've stayed at all kinds of places (under the star to five star) around the world, and I think this hotel by far had the best deal for a short stay upto maybe a week. Most people stay at Chau Doc for only a night or two in transition to and from Vietnam/Cambodia anyway, and for that, this hotel would be the best option!
Very clean room and bathroom! We just had a night of home stay in Mekong delta, and the bathroom there was just not usable! (the home stay itself was an amazing experience though! I loved everything about it except the bathroom! ) so this very clean functional bathroom was a surprising treat for the price we paid (I think it was $15 or $17 USD for a room with two double, not twin beds!). This is not a luxury hotel with all kinds of never-used amenities due to lack of time during a short stay, but if you are looking for a CLEAN place to stay for a few nights, and don't need all that fancy pools, slippers, bedding, and extra furniture, stay here! =) Oh and, a good size balcony (each room had one) on the street side to look out to the market area was a plus! There are plenty of places to eat around within 5-10 min walking distance. We just went to the market and had some street food (cooked)! Overall, the location was just perfect as well.
The young lady owner is extremely professional and helpful with organizing other transfers/tours!

+ Good location for Chau Doc !

Centrally located in Chau Doc across from the covered market, Trung Nguyen hotel welcomes with good English speaking desk staff willing to help. My room is basic, but comfortable. Has AC, wet shower with hot water and a balcony. Noisy from honking motorcycles, but what urbanized place in Vietnam isn't?

Desk staff arranged for a motorcycle tour to Sam Mountain ($5). I booked a second tour with the same driver the next day to Ba Chuc...a loop ride out of Chau Doc and back (US$7, 150,000 d). Ask for moto driver Hoang Long, he speaks English pretty well, drives safe, and is very friendly.

I also booked a river tour through the hotel, 3 hours by myself with the guide (I saw other tours with 10-12 people who probably paid the same as I did). Floating market, Cham village, fish farm, etc. I think I paid US$8.

Couple of decent restaurants on the same street as the hotel. Free wi-fi (cuts out now and again, but hey, it's free). Breakfast is served, but not included. I saw people being turned away due to lack of room vacancy about mid-afternoon.
