Cat Cat View Hotel

+ Great Views !

I read some mixed reviews about this Hotel but decided to try it anyway. I arrived very early in the morning as most do from Hanoi. After having a very good breakfast my room was ready a lot earlier than expected to was a nice surprise. I found the room to be clean comfortable and had a balcony with a fantastic view (level 7). Overall I found the staff friendly and helpful the hotel nice and in a good location. Word of Warning though don't hire a motorcycle from the hotel directly accross from the Cat cat view (i think called the Paradise) the nicest thing I can say about the man who runs it is that he is a rougue.

+ A lovely hotel !

We stayed at the Cat Cat view hotel 4 weeks ago. We had one of the Penthouse rooms and our friends stayed on a lower floor. We were there for only 1 night (2 days). Everything was very clean. The rooms were pretty typical of Vietnam, the bathroom was clean, the bath was just seated on the floor so the shower ran down the walls and all over the floor. We have seen this in so many hotels in Vietnam that it has been the norm and was not particularly distressing.
We had 2 breakfasts (we arrived early on the train). The first they ran out of bread and we waited nearly an hour before they told us the power was off and the bakery had run out of bread. They had a gas burner so cooked us pancakes instead. As there was no power we had to walk up the stairs (about 8 floors). Survived this ok and found that Sa pa has power outages quite regularly.
We hired motorbikes across the road and booked transport back to the train through the hotel and all was fine. The staff were very helpful and seemed really nice.
The views from our room were so spectacular you were reluctant to leave. I think that value for money this hotel was well worth the price. Sa pa is still developing as a tourist destination and I think if you are expecting 5 star hotels for $50 your expectations are ridiculous. We would certainly stay here again.

+ Fantastic Views, Great Price !

The Hotel is in a fantastic Location, Staff were extremely nice, Restaurant was good. We also arranged a local tour and a 5 day tour across northern Vietnam through the hotel. Both fantastic and very well priced as we had quotes elsewhere much higher. Highly Recommend both the hotel and their tours. We had Khanh on our 5 day tour and my kids still talk about him and miss him.

A nice but somewhat crowded place !

A nice place, just 100 m walk from the local market, in the right corner of the small town. Some rooms (I think the 5th floor and up) have a beautiful view. The acceptably friendly receptionist arranged a one-day walking guide, but this H'mong-woman also brought 5 of her friends, who all tried to sell us something during the walks.
The rooms are not very luxurious, and the doors are thin. We heard the noisy people on the other side of the hall. There was no hot water when we arrived but is was fixed quickly. The breakfast was not good. However, the whole atmosphere in Cat Cat View is a little 'backpacking' hostel and nice and convenient.

+ Best Views Ever!

We had a memorable stay in Sapa. The views from the room were amazing. The only problem we had was with the air conditioner which leaked water into the television when it had been running for a while so we had to do without.
The reception staff were not overly friendly and power outages are quite common but no point grumbling about that......just carry a torch.
We were expecting (hoping) it would be cooler in Sapa but in May we found it just as hot as anywhere else so no respite.
All in all a beautiful place to visit-just stunning.
I would recommend Baguette and Chocolat for lunch or morning/afternoon tea.
